Susan C. Miller, 71, of Mosinee, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Sue was born on Feb. 16, 1950, in Marshfield. The daughter of the late Ray and Lorraine (Eilers) Steines. She was a 1968 graduate of Stratford High School. She married Arnold “Chip” Miller on Sept. 6, 1969, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford, celebrating 52 years of marriage. He survives.

The Miller’s farmed in the Town of Green Valley. Sue had also been employed part-time at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a secretary in the Pharmacy department. She anxiously looked forward to every spring for the sightings of the first robin, oriole or rose-breasted grossbeak. She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her greatest joy was watching her two grandkids grow up and attending as many of their sporting events or concerts as possible.

Survivors, besides her husband, Arnold, include a son, Nathan (Deborah Schreiber) and two grandchildren, Tanner and Martina; two brothers: Tom (Marla) Steines, Mosinee, and Dennis (Mary Lou) Steines, Wausau; two sisters: Marilyn (Peter) Burek, Wausau, and Rae Ann (Mark) Grubofski, Camp Douglas; two sister in-laws: Yosh Steines, Columbus, GA, and Donna Steines, Wausau. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard “Dick” and William “Bill” Steines and an infant brother, Robert.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret and Deacon Peter Burek will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of services, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at

In lieu of flowers, donations will go to various charities Sue was most passionate about. Or donate to a charity of your choice in her name.

The family would like to thank Stratford EMTs and first responders for their excellent care and kindness and the staff at Marshfield Clinic, Marshfield Hospital for their excellent care over the years.

To Arnie & family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Sue always had a positive attitude in dealing with her cancer diagnosis. She was a shining gem to know and I will treasure her smile even though she is gone. God bless and heaven has gained another angel.
