Edward P. Adamus, 93, Peplin, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Acorn Hills Senior Living Center, Mosinee, surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 10, 1922, the son of the late Peter and Mary Adamus. He married Pauline Suwanski on Nov. 15, 1952, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin. His wife of 53 years preceded him in death on July 14, 2007.
Ed lived his life as a dairy farmer, a devout Catholic and loving family man. He was active on the church council, planning and participating in numerous church picnics and in later years served as the church janitor/groundskeeper. Ed most liked to spend time with his family and friends. He will also be remembered for his compassion for animals, his love of the outdoors and being an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include three sons, Robert (Deborah) Adamus, Eagan, MN, Lawrence (Gail) Adamus, Rothschild, and James (Denise) Adamus, Mosinee; two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Eckes, Stevens Point, and Carol (William) Wirsbinski, Eagan, MN; ten grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Taylor, and two brothers, Charles and Joseph Adamus.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin. The Rev. James Arthur will officiate. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist cemetery, Peplin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. where at 6:30 p.m. there will be a rosary service at the church.
