Adeline A. Slembarski, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home.
Adeline was born on April 5, 1929, on the family farm in the town of Dewey, in Portage County, to the late Frank and Emily (Novak) Levandowski. She grew up on the family farm with her siblings and attended Liberty Bell School. She worked at The Antler’s Supper Club, as a waitress, and at Club DuBay.
She married Joseph Slembarski on October 16, 1948, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in the town of Hull, they settled on a dairy farm in the Town of Knowlton, in Marathon County, retiring in 1986. Joseph preceded her in death on November 8, 2008.
Adeline was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton, also a member of St. Francis Cabrini Society. Worked side by side with her husband on the dairy farm. Outstanding homemaker, who had a wonderful vegetable and flower garden.
Adeline is survived by, two adopted children, Frank (Rosita) Slembarski, Mosinee, and Mary Murat, Stevens Point; six grandchildren, Joseph Slembarski, Robert (Emily) Slembarski, Richard (Rebecca) Slembarski, Andrew (Bethany) Slembarski, James (Tina) Murat, and Daniel (Lacy) Murat; seven great-grandchildren, Collin, Adeline, Henry, Vivian, Corinne, and June Slembarski, and John Murat, brother, Bernard (Bernice) Levandowski, Stevens Point, and sister Bernice Kawleski, Mosinee. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marian Cachur, three brothers, Richard, Leo, and Norbert Levandowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. Father James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church.
