Lottie Bielen

November 15, 1925 — November 24, 2016

Lottie M. (Grochmal) Bielen, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday, November 24, 2016, in Weston, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Cwiklek) Grochmal. She married Peter L. Bielen on March 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1977.

Prior to her marriage, Lottie attended the Wausau Vocational School. During WWII, she was employed at Marathon Battery Corp. Lottie and her husband farmed for many years, tending to many crops, cattle and especially her gardens. She was also employed for many years at Marathon Rubber Corp. After moving to Colorado, she was employed at the Current Card Company. While living in Colorado, she belonged to the International Polka Club of Colorado Springs. In addition to dancing, Lottie enjoyed reading and listening to music. As a great Green Bay Packer fan, she loved watching and attending the games. Always looking for a fun with her family and grandkids, she was excited to go to the water parks and carnivals, enjoying the roller coasters and Ferris wheels. She learned to golf later in life and played whenever the opportunity arose. Lottie especially enjoyed her family gatherings, where she displayed her skills in Polish cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Lottie lived in California and Colorado, but spent most of her life in Wisconsin.
