John “Brownie” R. Brown, 67, Mosinee, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.
John was born Aug. 6, 1954, the son of the late Leslie and May (Kennedy) Brown. He married Kathleen Lasky on Sept. 21, 1996, in Columbus, OH. She survives.
John was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan and enjoyed attending games as a season ticket holder, even during some rough seasons. Whether it was his speedboat or the pontoon, he loved being on the water. When he wasn’t on the water, he could be spotted taking his daily “tours” through Mosinee in his White 2003 Chevy Silverado. John was a Mosinee history buff who enjoyed telling stories and socializing. John worked at the Mosinee Paper Mill for 40 years working as an Industrial Mobile Equipment Mechanic. He was always entertained over conversations with his co-workers at the Mill, including giving each other nicknames. He was famous for singing his “Happy Birthday Song”, that has even been passed down to the next generation of the family and has become a tradition!
Survivors, besides his wife, Kathleen, include two sisters, Sharon Borth and Jean (Jerome) Baars; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Rebecca) Lasky and Jeff Speaks; six nieces/nephews, Jodi (Kevin Aldrich) Swid, Jamie (Tom) Fitzgerald, Jeff (Tarrah) Baars, Jennifer Borth, Myron Stewart, and Miriam (Steve) Leland; and eight great nieces/nephews, Alli, Stanford, Trey, Kate, Britt, Hannah, Julia, and Griffin.
