Maryann M. Buchkowski, 70, of Hatley, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at home. She was born July 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Hilton and Genevieve (Atkins) Rusch. She married Larry “Smooch” Buchkowski on Sept. 10, 2002. He survives.
Maryann will be remembered for the love she shared with her friends and family. She was an avid seamstress. She made all of her children’s clothes when they were young, including Kristine’s dresses and Brent’s cowboy shirts. Friends, family, and neighbors came from miles around to have Maryann patch and sew clothing for them. She also really enjoyed sewing pillowcases for the children at Camp Hope in Rosholt with her sister Dorothy. She and Larry also really enjoyed doing stained glass projects and going to the casino. Maryann enjoyed playing in the dirt planting flowers, cross stitching, card stamping, baking, playing checkers with her grandson Carter. Many Sunday mornings were spent having breakfast at Lisa’s at Lakeside with family and friends.
Survivors, besides her husband, Larry, her children: Kristine (Andrew) Trotter, Brent (Melissa) Obernberger, Loyd Buchkowski, Brenda (Clint) Cebula, and Jill (Kevin) Damask; six grandchildren: Nathan Scheider, Brennan Obernberger, Rowan Obernberger, Carter Buchkowski, Mitchell Krause, and Elizabeth Krause; a great grandson, Jaycen Scheider; her sister Dorthy (Art) Tautges and She is preceded in death by siblings: Frank (wife), Harvey (Pat) Rusch, Walter Rusch, David Rusch, Florence Pagel, Joyce Litke, Erma Butzlaff, and Rosemary Schleif.

Maryann wanted a special Thank You for her husband Larry for enriching her life with his love and care till her last day. Larry, I ask for you to please be good to yourself, you deserve every bit of grace that allows you to enjoy life to the fullest. I will be your angel till we meet again.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 7pm at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Sister Mary Ellen will officiate. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
