Sally A. Cegielski, 82, Mosinee, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at Three Oaks Rehabilitation Services, Marshfield.
She was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Frank Jr. and Josephine (Maersh) Vlasek. She married Wally Cegielski on Aug. 1, 1959, in Knowlton. He died June 30, 2012.
Sally was a hardworking mother and wife. From a child growing up on a farm, to housekeeping services at hotels, to a cook at the airport later in life. A brain tumor set her back physically in the early 90’s. Although she was not able to work again, she still managed to raise her children and take care of all housework. With her loving husband always at her side, she ruled with tough love and understanding, showed compassion when needed and had a great sense of humor.
She loved cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes, arguing with her husband over the news, and enjoyed an occasional glass of watered-down Mogen David wine. A Packer game or Brewer game on the radio with her cat on her lap was always something she enjoyed. She was a genuine person with a kind heart big enough for everyone and everything she met.
Survivors include her children, Patti Jo (Robert) Swedowski, Mosinee, Mark (Kathy) Cegielski, Junction City, Arne (Kay) Cegielski, Waukesha, and Russell Cegielski and Michael (Susie) Cegielski, both of Mosinee; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois (John) Hurley, Punta Gorda, Florida. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Swedowski.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church, Dancy. The Rev. Timothy Roser will officiate. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
