Patricia A. Check, 85, Rothschild, died July 7, 2022. She passed peacefully under the loving care of Aspirus Palliative.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1936, the daughter of the late Walter and Sadie (Barczak) Kurzynski. She married Bernard Check on January 29, 1955, at St. Peters Catholic Church, Stevens Point. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2017.
Patricia (Patsy) grew up on the family farm in the Town of Dewey. She was a devoted wife who supported her husband and children. Along with her focus at home she assisted her husband in their logging business by skidding logs.
Patricia had a passion for gardening in all forms, delighting in sharing her vegetables and flowers with others. Countless berries were picked, thousands of jars were canned and hundreds of outfits were sewn. She truly enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. Well known were her homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, goodies and paczki.
She enjoyed family gatherings as well as cherished time with her husband and grandchildren. Always there for her family and friends, she was especially supportive in times of crisis. Vacations and family trips will be fondly remembered.
Patricia was a devout Catholic attending St. Therese, and loved sharing her faith with others. She confidently looked forward to her joyful, heavenly reunion with her loved ones and our Lord.
