Edward V. Chmiel, 89, Mosinee, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born on June 15, 1931 in Mosinee, son of the late Valentine and Lucy (Przewoznik) Chmiel. On October 12, 1953 he married Anna Mae Jirgl. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2009.
He enjoyed listening to polkas, playing cards, gardening, deer and turkey hunting, and fishing. He loved being out in the sun cutting the lawn on his mower, and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at get togethers.
Ed worked his hobby farm for years as well as being a Supervisor for the Village of Kronenwetter and Supervisor of Mosinee Paper Mill for most of his life until he retired in 1994.
He is survived by a daughter, Carole Chmiel (Martin Garza), and a son, Richard (Sharon) Chmiel, both of Mosinee; three grandchildren, Chad (Mia) Chmiel, Mosinee; Nicole (Brent) McBrien, Florida; Tracey (John) Lassek, Mosinee; three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Parker Chmiel, and Allison Maguire. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Joseph, and sisters, Julia Slivicke, Marion Senn, Stacia Dove, Stephanie Woytasik, and Jean Groshek.
