Gail T. Clendenning, 79, Rosholt, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Greenwood, the daughter of the late Theodore and Imogene
(Stabnow) Ampe. She married Patrick Clendenning on Aug. 31, 1963, in Greenwood. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1998.
Gail graduated from Greenwood High school and traveled to Milwaukee to pursue a technical degree in X-ray Technology. After her graduation from Technical School, the couple moved to Beloit for several years then settled in the Town of Bevent where they started farming. Gail worked as an X-ray technician for over 40 years at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point where she retired in 2004.
Gail truly loved farming and all the animals that resided on it. She so loved the animals that each one was named and there wasn't a day that went by where she did not greet them. She was also an avid outdoors person where she loved fishing, camping, and especially deer hunting which was considered a holiday for her. She enjoyed going on many walks with her children and grandchildren through the woods and fields on the home farm.
Gail also loved watching and playing sports. She started playing softball at the age of 18 and played into her 50's. She was a fantastic shortstop player, earning many trophies in tournaments because of her great athletic ability. She also enjoyed bowling and playing pool with family and friends in league play. Another activity that she enjoyed was going to auctions where she would meet up with many neighbors and friends where they would boast about the deals they got.
She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
