James “Jim” W. Denzine Sr., 71, Prentice, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at his home.
He was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Prentice, the son of the late Galen Sr. and Pearl (Giles) Denzine. He married Joan Swanson on Oct. 15, 1966, in Phillips. She survives.
Jim had a passion for the outdoors his entire life. He hunted, fished and trapped. One of his favorite things to do was to go to Ontario Canada and jig fish for walleyes. He was passionate about hunting whitetails in the fall and spent as much time as he could on an ice fishing pail in the winter. He passed these traditions and passions along to his kids and grandchildren. Jim was friendly to strangers and could easily start a conversation with anyone. He was an avid story teller, honest business man and lover of his Lord & Savior.
Survivors, besides his wife, Joan, include four children, James Jr. (Shannon) Denzine, Thorp, Galen Denzine, Thorp, Richard (Jennifer) Denzine, Stanley and Sarah (James) McCarter, Ladysmith; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Sally) Denzine, Phillips, David (Susan) Denzine, Alaska, and Timothy (Carla) Denzine, Phillips; two sisters, Constance (Jerry) Heim and Shirley (Michael) Bungert, both of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
