It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas K. Davis, a devoted husband, father, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 73.
Born on April 13, 1951, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to the late Russell and Elaine Davis. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and attended UW-Stevens Point for Paper Science and Engineering. He went on to work at the Mosinee Paper Mill, where he dedicated over 25 years of service. Later in life, he became the Network Administrator for the Mosinee School District, a role in which he took great pride. His interest in technology, combined with his problem-solving skills and attention to detail, made him a valuable asset to the school system.
Doug married his college sweetheart, Faye (née Lindgren), in 1975. Over their 49 years together, they shared a life filled with love, respect, and joy, while raising their two beloved daughters. Together, they built a lifetime of memories, many of which Doug preserved through his passion for photography, capturing the beauty of wildlife, local sports athletes and events, and photographing family gatherings. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trap shooter and was a member of the Mosinee Sportsmen's Alliance, serving as the President for many years. Doug was an active part of the congregation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mosinee, where he enjoyed a strong sense of community and purpose. He found great fulfillment in using his technology skills to assist both the church and his friends and family.
Doug is survived by his wife, Faye; daughters Cassie and Whitney Davis; his brothers Ron (Etsuko) Davis, Paul (Lynn) Davis, and Tim (Patty) Davis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Andrew Ewald will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM, until the time of service, all at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Marathon County Humane Society, Disabled American Veterans, or the Mosinee Sportsmen's Alliance; causes that were dear to Doug’s heart.
Doug’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Aspirus ICU staff, Home Health Care Nurses, and Marathon County Transportation Services, who provided exceptional and compassionate care in recent years.
