Ruth J. Ganser, 95, died on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Stoney River Assisted living, Weston.
She was born on June 18, 1921, the daughter of the late Arvid and Hanna (Nelson) Chellberg. She Married John H. Ganser in 1942, at St. Paul Catholic church, Mosinee. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1993.
She was a Mosinee High School graduate who worked as an insurance agent for 13 years and was the secretary for the Central Wisconsin V.B.O.B. and the 2nd Tank Battalion, 9th Armored Division.
Ruth was a very generous person who loved helping people out. She was extremely organized and wasn’t afraid of anything – except bugs! With a great sense of humor, she enjoyed playing cards, sewing, baking and loved her candy. She opened her home and heart to everyone and was “Grandma Ruth” to many. She also loved her poodles, “Brutis and BJ” very much.
Survivors include two sons, Delmar (Barb) Ganser and Jack (Virg) Ganser; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ganser; eight grandchildren, Jami Smith, Robbie Ganser, Jodi Sann, Russ Ganser, JanEl Daul, Brianna Gates, Devlin Patoka and Natalie Ponsler; 17 great grandchildren, Brooke Sirny, Danae Norton, Tyler and McKenna Ganser, Kelcea and Kole Svitak, Shae and Jayde Ganser, Carter and Olivia Daul, Lucas and Sam Sackmann, Wyatt Gates, and Lydia, Elliott, Soren and Harbor Patoka; two great-great grandchildren, Tyse and Jase Norton; two sisters, Vivian Davis and her twin, Irene Swatloski; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Chellberg and a sister, Dagney Carlson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Marilyn Lange will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
