Stanley A. Grych, 100, Mosinee, died peacefully Monday, July 10, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Chicago, ILL, the son of the late Albert and Mary (Jelen) Grych. He married Estelle Ogiba on April 24, 1948, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. Estelle preceded Stanley in death on Jan. 3, 2008.
Stanley was a proud WW2 veteran; after retiring from farming, he worked at Denny’s restaurant. He enjoyed warming the hearts of many by sharing his homemade bread, apple pies, and potato pancakes. Stanley was well known for his expert bird house carpentry skills, many of them adorn homes and yards across the country. Above all Stanley was a man of concrete principals, with strong faith, a determined spirit, and an unshakable love for his family.
Survivors include; two sons, Philip (Rosemary) Grych, Jerry (Lynn) Grych; three daughters, Judy (Neil) Weinhandl, Roxann Wernberg, Barb (Rick) Letto; six grandchildren, Adrian Grych, Julie Grych, Jessica (Gavin) Hutchinson, Jordan Letto, Ben (Kristin) Wernberg, Adam Letto; two step-grandchildren, Randy Pionek, Renee (Dan) Schude; two great-grandchildren, Darian Harvey, Everett Hutchinson; five step-great-grandchildren, Rheannon, Sabrina, Darius, Nathaniel, and Tanner; one sister-in-law, Mary Grych; and many nieces and nephews.
Stanley was preceded in death by; a son, Mark Grych; one brother, Joseph; four sisters, Irene, Freida, Phyllis and Virginia.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 15, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Al Slowiak will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
