Gerald Hagenbucher, 82, Mosinee, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Gerald was born on August 9, 1940, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Raymond and Rose (Doheney) Hagenbucher. He married Betty Epright on April 4, 1959, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau, she survives.
He worked at Hertz Car Rental in Mosinee from 1959 until his retirement in 2007, then worked part time until 2019, while simultaneously operating as a business owner for Hertz Car Rental in Rhinelander. Jerry also held a part time position for 18 years as a Reserve Deputy within the Warrant & Transport Division for Marathon County Sheriff’s Department. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Rhinelander, playing cribbage, and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Betty, Gerald is survived by his children, Greg (Tina Perkofski) Hagenbucher, Susan (Mike) Metz, Chris Hagenbucher, Garret (Nicole Hoffman) Hagenbucher, and Jill Bowman; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by a sister, Elinor, two brothers John and twin Thomas, and a son-in-law Jerry Bowman.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 6, 2023, at St Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee, at 11:00 am. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am until the time of service all at the church.
