Harriet Martha Bossom

Harriet (Bunny) M. Bossom, 97, died peacefully surrounded by family on Oct. 25, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center Weston. 

Harriet was born on October 12, 1927, youngest daughter of the late William Jr. and Joannah (Edler) Graveen. She married Herbert Frickenstein on May 17, 1947. They farmed in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County, until his death on Sept. 10, 1979. In 1983 she married John Bossom and moved to Waterloo IA, where they lived until his passing Jan. 14, 2011. Harriet then moved to Mosinee WI. 

Throughout her life Harriet enjoyed gardening, sewing, and traveling to many locations in the United States. She made many quilts with her church quilting groups, and for family members. Besides working on the farm, Harriet also worked a seasonal job at Figis, Inc. in Marshfield for many years before moving to Iowa. 

Survivors include her children Lucille (Norman) Weichelt,Traverse City, MI, Judy (Don Manlick) Feltz, Milladore, WI, Donald (Peggy) Frickenstein, Middleton, WI, and Dennis Frickenstein, Marathon, WI; step-children Dave (Karen) Bossom, Rick Bossom, and Kathy (Joel) Smith: grandchildren Jennifer Close (Paul Close), Steve (Nikki) Weichelt, Patrick (Sarah Niederer) Frickenstein, and Claire (Shane) Blanton; step-grandchildren Angela (Matt S.) Lee, Pam Bossom, Jackie (Aaron) Weise, Jon Bossom, Chris Smith, Joe Smith, and Paul Smith; great grandchildren Abigail (Duggan) Foley, Benjamin Close, Ella Weichelt, and William Weichelt; and 7 step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Harriet was preceded in death by a son William in infancy, and her 8 older siblings. 

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Pastor Phyllis Smoot will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
