During her youth, Aunt Helen was very active in school. She played saxophone in the school band. Some of her favorite things to do were singing with Sweet Adeline’s, tatting, cooking, reading and crossword puzzles.
She worked for Marathon Battery, Wausau for many years. This is where she met the love of her life, Herb Hoffman. She bowled on a league for many years. Aunt Helen and Uncle Herb enjoyed the cottage Uncle Herb built on Birch Lake, Winchester. As children, we and many other relatives & friends have wonderful memories of “up north”. After all, it is where we learned to water ski. After retirement, they moved to their dream home on the lake. Later in life returning to Wausau.
