Eleanor H. Jachec, 91, Kronenwetter, formerly of Elmhurst, Illinois, died on March 4, 2020 at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.
Eleanor was born on June 7, 1928, daughter of the late George and Catherine Ropel. She married Raymond Jachec on April 20, 1952 at Holy Innocence Church in Chicago. Survivors include three daughters, four grandsons and one granddaughter. She was an avid reader; card player; lover of animals, Turner Classic Movies, forests, bingo, and slot machines; a gardener; a vegetarian; a waitress; and, a devoted Catholic. Eleanor spent the last 2-1/2 years living in the Primrose Retirement Community and enjoyed playing cards and bowling on the Wii with her friends. If there is a porch in heaven, Eleanor and Ray are now sitting in webbed rocking chairs having a drink (wine for her and scotch on the rocks for him), holding hands and looking into the Wisconsin forest they both loved so much.
A graveside service and memorial will be held at a later date. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of the arrangements. Online Condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com
