Raymond J. Jachec, 89, Kronenwetter, formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
He was born Jan. 11, 1927, the son of the late John and Anna (Hudec) Jachec. He married Eleanor Ropel on April 20, 1952, at Holy Innocence Church, Chicago, IL. Besides his wife Eleanor, survivors include his three daughters, four grandsons and one granddaughter.
Raymond was a proud WWII veteran and spent 35 years as an application engineer for Simpson Electric, retiring in 1990. He was an engineer, model ship builder, wine maker, amateur lumberjack, avid reader and active member of VFW Post 8280. Despite moving to the heart of Green Bay Packer country, he remained a staunch supporter of his beloved Chicago Bears as well as the Blackhawks and White Sox. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
