Jacqueline (Jacci) A. (Woodward) Buelow, 70, Mosinee, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24th, 2023, with her family by her side at her home in Mosinee.
Jacci was born July 5, 1952, in Wausau. Daughter of the late Quentin and Theresa (Turzinski) Woodward. She married Calvin Buelow on November 9th, 1974 at Mt. Calvary Church, Rothschild, he survives.
Jacci grew up on her grandparent’s farm with family for many years. Her grandparents showed Jacqueline the importance of family.
She grew up wanting to be a teacher. She was a 4H leader in high school, a Sunday school teacher, a Sunday school superintendent, a Weight Watchers instructor, and a manager for 19 years at J&L Gas in Wausau. But she always had the desire to teach kids, so she went back to college and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and went on to earn her master’s degree at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. She attained straight A’s while working and raising her family.
She was a teacher at John Muir Middle School, Wausau for 25 years. Jacci enjoyed learning and developing new lesson plans every year and passing on that knowledge to her students. She firmly believed a teacher needs to show her students that she personally cares for each of them. Only then will they care about learning. She always put her students first and encouraged them to do their best.
She was an avid reader her entire life. But, above all else, the most important thing to her was family – spending time together and making/sharing memories. She was not only a loving, caring teacher, she was a loving, caring mother and grandmother and she opened her heart to anyone who knew her.
She battled breast cancer in 2018 and won. She started her battle with appendix cancer in 2021. She said she would fight the good fight till the end and she did. No matter how sick she was, her concern and love for family was stronger.
Jac had a great gift of making the lives of everyone who knew her a little bit better. She will be dearly missed by all. Her greatest joy in her life was her grandson, Vincent. He always brought a twinkle to her eyes and a smile to her face.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Buelow, Mosinee; two sons, Christopher (Suzanne) Buelow, Mosinee, and Daniel (Erin Trehey) Buelow, Arvada, CO; three grandchildren, Vincent Buelow, Phoebe and Oswyn Wheeler; siblings, Bernadette (Lester) Cater, Keshena, Paulette (John) Rucks, Kronenwetter, Brad Woodward, Wausau; stepmother, Linda Woodward, Schofield; stepbrothers and stepsister Quentin (Julie Petroski) Woodward, Jr, Schofield, Angel (Scott Marten) Woodward, Schofield, and Cody Woodward, Schofield; many nieces and nephews; aunt, Sister Carolita Turzinski, and many other aunts and uncles, as well as brother-in-laws, Kevin Rick, Tomahawk, and Joe Wilhelm, Weston. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Wilhelm, niece, Katie Wilhelm, niece, Autumn Woodward, sister-in-law, Debra Rick, and her father and mother-in-law, Lester and Lorraine Buelow.
