Glenwyn Johnson (Altenburg)

Glenwyn Johnson, 81, better known to the Mosinee community as Twiggy, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at Acorn Hill Senior Living, Mosinee.

She was born the fourth daughter of eight girls to Glenn and Margaret (Konieczko) Altenburg on Feb. 23, 1938. She married her husband, Martin on Dec. 1, 1957.

Glenwyn had a kind heart. There was always enough food or room for one more person. She enjoyed fishing, bowling and some travel, but most of all enjoyed holiday time with family.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda (Jack) Grabow, Mosinee, and Pam (Bruce) Maciejewski, Cape Coral; three grandchildren, Jacob (Beth) Grabow, Marie (Bryan) Berndt, both of Mosinee, and Cody (Elena) Maciejewski, St. Louis; six great grandchildren; Sarah, Grace and Isaac Grabow, and Myia, Boe and Brody Berndt; five sisters, Jean Witzeling, Marjorie Geary, Peggy (Harry) Kraklow, LaVonne (Elmer) Finck and Rita (Les) Bergstrom; and many nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin, and two sisters, Janice Rindfleisch and Gail Arlen.

The family is grateful to all the staff at Acorn Hill and Interim Health Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2019, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
