Joseph B. Taylor, 96, Mosinee, passed away peacefully with his nieces Sandy, Bernie, and Jackie by his side.
Joe was born on February 1, 1928, in the Township of Green Valley, son of the late Asa and Louisa (Daul) Taylor. He attended school at Saint Roberts in Halder, WI until 8th grade when he graduated. He worked on the farm until age 26 when he was drafted into the Army as a Combat Engineer from 1954-1956. After being honorably discharged in 1956 Joe worked at the Mosinee Paper Mill for 18 years before he retired at age 62. After retirement he farmed along with his brother Lee and nephew Bobby until they sold the cows in 2007.
Joe lived his entire life on the family farm on Ancestor Lane with his brother Lee and sister-in-law Norma and kids; Judy, Ronnie, JoAnne, Sandy, Bobby, Bernadette, and Jackie, helping with the family farm. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including hunting, fishing, farming, and his love for his Beagles.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers; Jim, Sal, Leo, and Phoney Taylor, sister; Margaret (St. Germain) Taylor and nephews; Claud, David, Chucky, and Bobby. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Halder. The Rev. Joseph Nahkwah will officiate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery, Halder. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service, all at the church.
