Judith M. Condon, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston.
Judy was born on September 9, 1939, in Wausau, WI, the daughter of the late Steven and Beatrice (Lajannesse) Nowitzke. She married the love of her life, Jeremiah Condon, Jr., on July 8, 1961, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Wausau, they almost make it to 50 years together before Jerry’s passing on April 29, 2011.
Together along with their seven children, planted and harvested several ginseng gardens. Judy enjoyed snowmobiling, to which she was a member of the KK Riders Club. Judy loved being outdoors, hanging clothes on the line to absorb the outdoors was a must, she could be found cutting her grass religiously, mainly due to the smell of fresh cut grass filling the air. While enjoying one of her favorite pastimes, camping, she made sure to always have a large roaring campfire. Judy was a fun loving, woman, she would instigate shenanigans, involving her children, always to make people laugh, and to keep herself young. Judy was creative at heart, from cross stitching to oil panting and finally to complicated coloring patterns.
Judy started her career as an Emergency Room Technician, for St. Mary’s Hospital in Wausau, at the age of 18. She was there long enough to see the hospital change owners twice. Judy eventually transitioned from the ER to Surgical Instrument Processor, sterilizing instruments used in surgery, until her retirement in 2005.
She is survived by; her children, Lori (Dan) Staszak, Nancy (Robert Heinrich) Mondroski, Patricia (Mark) Baumgartner, all of Mosinee, Lisa (Victor) Harper, Tomahawk, Mary (Gary Fechner) Manitowoc, Joanne (Steven) Bennett, and Jeremiah (Ann Baumgartner) Condon, both of Mosinee; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Jeremiah, Judy was preceded in death by, granddaughter, Darcie Espeseth; her sisters, Faith Condon, Joanne Line, and infant sister Nancy Nowitzke; her brother, Gordon Nowitzke; and her best friend, Pat Hoewisch.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
