Judith E. Kowalski, 60, Marathon, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at her home.
Judith was born on June 13, 1963, in Tomahawk, WI, daughter to Mary (Walberger) and the late Robert Hilgendorf. On October 19, 1985, she married Larry Kowalski, he survives.
Judy’s primary focus in life was her family. She expressed her love through her creativity and work ethic. She was a woman of many hobbies, never shying from a new challenge. She made candles, she baked, she created beautiful flower arrangements and she always had a manicured basket of goodies for visitors to the house. No one close to her was ever left wanting, especially for food or hugs.
She led by example and rarely took a day off for herself. Her free time was usually spent with her family on camping trips, school events, or just watching the Packers. In those rare moments of quiet you could find her in her garden, which she shared the bounty of in the form of homemade wine.
Judy dedicated her professional life caring for the elderly. Getting her start at Kennedy Park Medical Center as she would describe it, “scrubbing toilets”. Her leadership and work ethic shown through and led her to the position as District Manager for Healthcare Services Group, where she oversaw nearly a dozen different facilities. Despite this expansion of responsibilities, she never complained more than necessary and still made time for everyone else.
There is so much more that could be said of her, but in a nutshell that was Judy. She was the hardest worker, the biggest smile in the room, and the guaranteed best hugger. She was filled with more love than she could give (despite her best efforts).
Besides her husband Larry, Judith is survived by her children, sons Michael and Nichalaus, mother Mary, and siblings Mathew and Susan. Judith was preceded in death by her younger brother Mark and her father Robert, who are all probably raising hell in heaven - together again.
