Alison Ann Kennedy, 42, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, at her cozy home in Minnetonka, MN surrounded by her family, after a fierce battle with metastatic colon cancer, which she faced with pure bravery and sheer strength.
Alison was born on December 19, 1978, to Timothy Kennedy (Mosinee, WI) and Mary Beth Kennedy (Waconia, MN).
Alison grew up in Mosinee where she attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and Mosinee High School. She moved to Minnesota after college where she worked for 22 years as a dedicated and loyal employee of Ovation Orthodontics.
Alison was a tender-hearted and generous daughter, sister, aunt, and trusted friend. She was kind, thoughtful and creative, with an old soul. She loved tiny things, delicious snacks, and iced coffees from McDonalds. She was the collector of many curated thrift shop treasures, each having their own story, and she had the best vinyl collection around. Alison loved baking, sharing her treats with others, and continuously perfecting and refining her recipe collection.
As an avid reader, she was a divine storyteller and the one to beat when watching Jeopardy; Alison knew all the answers. She had a heart for animals and tenderly nurtured and cared for her cats. She loved her family dearly and spent her summers camping with them in Northern WI. Her love ran even deeper for her adoring nieces and nephews with whom she would spend many hours doing arts and craft projects. They were the center of her world. Her beauty, free spirit, and presence are greatly missed.
Survivors include her parents, Tim (Sherri) Kennedy, Mary Beth Kennedy; Kevin Schmieg; a brother, Neil (Sidney) Kennedy (Minneapolis, MN) and their children Ruby and Rufus; two sisters, Shannon (Sam) Raser (Minnetrista, MN) and their children Loretta, Simon, and Hattie Alison; and Molly (Paul) Kennedy-Kurth (Wausau) and their children Abe, Francesca, Pendleton, and Fiona.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jim and Mary Kasten (Mosinee); paternal grandparents, Pete and Doris Kennedy (Mosinee) and Allan and Kathleen Brekke (Stevens Point); sisters, Mary Doris Kennedy and Abigail Okray; as well as her beloved and faithful cat companions, Timmy and Tinkerbell.
