Lee R. Koprowski, 85, Mosinee, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston.
He was born April 7, 1936, in the town of Bergen, the son of the late Lloyd and Esther (Gollubske) Koprowski.
Lee was an all-around sportsman. He enjoyed being at the cabin in the U.P. at Bond Falls, Mich., where fishing and hunting were his passions. He also enjoyed recreational flying and going to airshows. He grew up with the farm life and joined the Air Force right out of school. He served our country and enjoyed telling us stories about being in Africa. He was discharged honorably in 1958. He married Janet Thanig on a hot July day in 1960. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together. He was employed at Mosinee Paper Corp. from 1961 to 1998.
He enjoyed all the grandchildren and was even blessed to have great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a “funny character” and loved to have fun and laugh. He had faith in God and was ready to meet our heavenly father.
Survivors, besides his wife, Janet, include his children, Lynda (Roger) Luedtke, Kronenwetter, Galen (Lynne) Koprowski, Mosinee, Terry (JoAnne) Koprowski, Knowlton, and Rebecca (Jason) White, Greenville, S.C.; his grandchildren, Leah (Chad), Joshua (Sarah), Kayleigh (A.J.), Kenny, Kyle, Kelsey (Dillon), Kristy, Sarah, Joshua, Abrielle, Kolten, Megan, Jenna and Kaylee; and his great-grandchildren, Kyra (Sean), Keign, Breanna, Jayden, Blake, Nevaeh, Hayleigh, Jayce, Kyle Jr., Henri, Alex, Conner, Jemma, Sage, Willow, Sierra, and Rosslyn, Aimen, William, Alice & Sebastian. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Hanson.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com
