Mitchell L. Koziol, 86, passed away peacefully at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, on December 28, 2021, surrounded by his four children. He was born on November 5, 1935. The son of the late Walter and Helen (Zmyewski) Koziol. Mitchell married Esther Dawiedczyk on November 6, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1999.
Mitch was a hard-working man. He worked two jobs in order to take care of his family. He moved to Wisconsin when he retired because he loved the country and loved being outdoors. He looked forward to planting his garden every year and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the summertime. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell. But the one thing that he was most proud of was his family. He loved them very much. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Mitchell (Alice) Koziol, Kenneth (Terri) Koziol, David Koziol and Karen (Sam) Koziol; six grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Radcliff, Mitchell Koziol, Ashley Koziol, Kenneth Koziol, Brittany Koziol, and Alyssa (Adam) Koziol; two step-grandchildren, Dorothy (Martin) Avila, Jessica (Kevin) Hart; three great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and two step great, great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Esther.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be at the Parish Cemetery, Peplin. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of services all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
