Carl J. Krieg, 96, of Mosinee, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at home.
He was born June 4, 1921, the son of the late Carl W. and Josephine (Pecha) Krieg. He married Vera (Rheinschmidt) on July 10, 1946 at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Mosinee, where they enjoyed 71 years of marriage. She survives.
Carl was a proud military veteran, serving in the Navy during WW2, then serving in the local Mosinee VFW. Carl was a 30-year veteran of the Mosinee police force serving eight years as the chief of police. He was a loving husband and father, always providing for his family and supporting his children’s activities and events. Carl was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed his time spend outside in nature.
Survivors, besides his wife Vera include; two sons, Barry (Diane) Krieg, Vancoover, WA, and Rodney Krieg, Mosinee; three grandchildren, John (Megan) Krieg, Erin (Tim) Krupicka, and Steven Krieg; five great-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Lyle Krieg, and one sister Ethelyn Helbach.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
