William “Mouse” Kucil, 69, Rothschild, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. After a brief illness with septic pneumonia, with his loving family by his side.

He was born April 30, 1952, the son of the late William Sr and Jenny (Urbas) Kucil.

Billy AKA Mouse, first major dedication started when he was drafted into the US Army, where he spent 4 years of his life as an MP. He then went on to college at UW- Superior where he joined the FEX fraternity and graduated with a degree in political science. It was there that he met his FEX “brothers” and continued this relationship throughout his life. After finishing school, he went on to be his social self and acquired a job at Kraft Foods as a salesman for 20 years. After retiring, Billy enjoyed spending time with his two children as the “devoted sports dad” and could not express enough how proud he was of them. Traveling all over the state and being their number one fan. When Leukemia snuck up on him and he beat it, he began teaching YMCA Livestrong as an instructor and spent his days cutting lawns, snow blowing, playing pool and became an avid golfer. He was a very dedicated member of the Man of Honor and enjoyed every minute of it. In September of 2021, Billy became a loving grandparent to Theodore. Billy was always the jokester in the room. If you knew him, you knew he touched your heart in some way.

Survivors include his beloved friend, Sherrill Christensen; children, Alycia Kucil, Appleton, and Michael (Megan) Kucil, Wausau; three grandchildren, Harper, Sophie, and Theodore; a sister, Diana (Tom) Filipiak, Mosinee; one niece, Kristy (James) Bechtel, Kronenwetter; his former wife, Gloria Duernberger, Marathon; and lastly his grand-dog, Mya.
