Gerald “Jerry” W. Lawrence, 68, Marathon, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born Aug. 31, 1948, the son of the late Walter and Katherine (Borth) Lawrence. He married Jane Townsend on Sept. 26, 1970 at St. Therese Church, Rothschild. She survives.
Jerry was a Wausau East graduate, attended Northcentral Technical College, and served in the United States Coast Guard. He worked as an engineer for 50 years and recently retired from K & A Manufacturing in Weston. Jerry loved his Grandchildren most of all and enjoyed fishing, photography, hunting, hiking, the outdoors, the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He was also a member of Bill’s Musky Club, Youth Heritage Days and Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors besides his wife, Jane, include his three children, Jody (Sheri) Lawrence, Jeremy (Michelle) Lawrence, and Jenny Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Jodi, Justine, Jacob, Nicholas, Hailey and Brandon Lawrence and Jackson and Jocelyn Wegner; three brothers, Keith (Gail) Lawrence, Lyle (Sue) Lawrence, and John Lawrence; two sisters, Tammie (Gary) Renel, Ann (Doug) Smallish; Nieces and Nephews, Amy, Rhonda, Samantha, Mike, Jeff, John, Kimberly, Brad, Jamie, Mike, and Debbie; Special cousin, Marilyn Benishek; and Special friends, Jay Winkler and Lee Seis. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Lawrence.
Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Jenn Collins will officiate. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com
