Charles “Chuck” Lawson, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
Chuck was born July 15, 1925, in Monticello, Arkansas, the son of the late Turner and Irene Lawson. He married Phyllis Day on Aug. 25, 1951, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on Nov. 23, 2009.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Chuck was proud of his service and dedicated to his country.
Our Dad led an amazing adventurous life filled with family, and determination to do the best he could at everything he did. He was deeply passionate for all four children he raised, three of which were adopted. He loved singing in the Barbershop groups and enjoyed the beautiful home he lived in and all the family who deeply loved him. He had a wonderful sense of humor, deep faith, and believed nothing was a coincidence but all part of God’s divine plan which has blessed his life and those surrounding him. He will be forever missed.
Survivors include his children, Rob (Desiree) Lawson, Mosinee, Michael Lawson, Wausau, and Lynn (Brian) Madden, Wausau; a son-in-law, Ted Shablack, Long Island, New York; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his significant other, Ingrid Knechtsberger, Mosinee. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen Shablack, and a sister, Pat.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Marilyn Lange will officiate. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery, Mosinee.
