LeRoy "Lee" James Goretski

September 23, 1950 — February 27, 2025

Kronenwetter

LeRoy “Lee” Goretski, traveled to his final reward on Feb. 27, 2025. Lee was born the seventh son of Edward Goretski Sr. and Cecilia (Kostus) Goretski, on September 23, 1950. He attended schools in Rosholt, Town of Sharon, Polonia and Stevens Point. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, before beginning his career in retail sales. He worked as store clerk, dept. manager, store manager, and district manager in his career and retired from Party City. He received many awards in his management career.

Lee married Sandra Karch on April 29, 1972, at St. Stanislaw Catholic Church in Stevens Point, WI. They raised two children, Keith Goretski (Mesa, AZ) and Laurie Goretski (WA). Lee and Sandy lived in St. Point, WI, Wausau, WI, Escanaba, Gladstone, Marquette, MI, Phoenix, AZ, Las Angeles, CA, and Mesa, AZ. They also purchased their retirement cottage in Northern WI and enjoyed spending their summers in WI and winters in AZ. Later they purchased their permanent home in Kronenwetter, WI. Lee and Sandra enjoyed vacationing and travelling and traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Their travels included places like New York, Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Russia, Australia, South Africa, Fiji, Ireland, UK, Scotland, Canada, Egypt, Turkey, and Europe, etc. He especially enjoyed his travels in Alaska.

Lee served in the national guard for 8 years and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was very patriotic and would have continued serving in the national guard if his sales and management career wouldn’t have required him to travel. He always displayed the American flag in his yard and would never take a knee during the national anthem.

Lee was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and 4-wheeling, and golf. His family was always most important to him, and he adored his six grandchildren: Faith, Qwynn, Jessica, Makenna, Lueric, and Cecily, as well as his four great grandchildren Sebastian, Ollie, Scout, and Maxwell. Lee is quoted as saying, “I enjoyed my life to the fullest”. He attributed his success in life to being born the seventh son, a lucky number.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Keith Goretski, three brothers, Edward Jr., Eugene, and Maynard. Two sisters, Marie Knapp and Janice Woyak, nephews Kelly, Gerald (Jerry), Randy and Alan Goretski and niece Tanya Goretski.

Lee was a very strong person. His motto was, “Do not go gentile into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.” Until we meet again at Jesus’ feet, God be with you Lee, till we meet again.
