Sophie C. Liedtke, 85, Mosinee, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 27, 2016, at her homestead surrounded by her children.
She was born on November 13, 1930, the daughter of the late Michael and Jadwiga (Slowik) Gunseor, in the township of Bergen. She married Walter A. Liedtke, the love of her life, on August 19, 1950 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1982.
Sophie was a lifetime parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church of Mosinee. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed being in nature, especially walking with her loyal dog BJ. She was an incredibly outgoing person who enjoyed talking with everyone she met. She was a very caring and compassionate person who always put the needs of others before her own. Her heart of gold was bigger than life itself.
Survivors include her son; Paul (Diana) Liedtke, daughter; Rose (Daniel) Bernardy, a sister; Helen Liedtke. Six grandchildren; Tracy (David) Harris, Jacqueline (Jason) Quade, Paula Liedtke, Jacob (fiancée Maddie) Liedtke, Bryan (Sheena) Bernardy, Amanda (Matthew) Lutz, thirteen great grandchildren; Dominique (Megan), Kayla and Will Harris, Jessica Quade, Lily Allen, Brylee Douglas, Claudia Morris, Dacota, Krystofer and Angelina Bernardy, Skylar and Madilyn Herdt, and Cameron Lutz. And one great great granddaughter; Ella Harris.
Sophie is preceded in death by one grandchild; Michael, five brothers; Pete, Tom, Andy, Mike and Frank. And two sisters; Mary and Lillian.
Services will be at 10:30a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2016, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Przybylski will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Visitation will be again 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home.
