William G. Lochner, 82, Plover, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at his home under the care of Heartland Hospice, Stevens Point.
He was born July 7, 1939, in Wausau, the son of the late Walter and Dorothy (Schmid) Lochner. He married Julie Grabski, the love of his life, on Feb. 27, 1998, in Las Vegas. She survives.
Bill worked at Wausau Paper Mill as a machine tender, retiring after 44 years of service. He played hockey for the Wausau Hockey League for two years, and loved cribbage, camping, fishing and golf. He also loved bowling, having had the first 700’s series in Wausau and did it two years in a row on the same dates. He was also a great fan of dirt track racing, the Packers, and Minnesota Wild Hockey.
Bill was easy going, loved talking to people and was surrounded by numerous friends. He loved life.
Survivors, besides his wife, Julie, include his three children, Rhonda, Lynn and Pamela; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Lochner, Weston. He was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Sodini, and a brother, Robert.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.bestefh.com
