Betty A. Marciniak, 92, Mosinee, died Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston.
She was born on October 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalena (Rzeszut) Pachniak. She married Stanley Marciniak on Nov. 4, 1944 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Knowlton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1997.
Betty ran the Swamp Inn Tavern in Dancy for 28 years. After she sold the tavern, she continued bartending well into her 80’s. She enjoyed bowling, playing pool, throwing darts, and watching sports, especially the Packers and the Brewers. Once she got to Rennes, she enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo and making jewelry. She continued her tradition of being the queen of dress-up for every holiday. Her biggest joy was faith, family and friends.
Survivors include Betty’s six children: three sons, Robert (Judi) Marciniak, Jerry (Joyce) Marciniak, and John (Kellie) Marciniak and three daughters, Phyllis Shirek, Shari (Bernie Pionek) Marciniak, and Sandy (Jim) Marciniak; 13 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Sophie Pachniak. She is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Frank Shirek, and five brothers, Stanley, John, Chester, Edward and Harry Pachniak.
A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 651 Mead Ln, Knowlton. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the church, where at 6 p.m. there will be a rosary service. Family will receive friends again, Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family will arrangements.
