Michael Parnell McGrail, 91, of Wausau, died peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born March 25, 1926, in Romiley, Cheshire, England, the son of Samuel and Jessie (Parnell) McGrail. He married his childhood sweetheart Dymphna Smythe on January 28, 1950, at Our Lady and Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church in Romiley, Cheshire, England. Dymphna preceded him in death on July 23, 2009.
Michael served in the British Royal Navy during World War 2. He brought his family to the United States in 1966, and founded New Century Chemicals in Brockton Massachusetts. He was a bright optimist, who loved to make friends, a great story teller and an avid guitarist. He was a man of great faith, and was always there to help.
Survivors, include Michael’s children, Michael McGrail Jr, Bernadette McGrail, and Patrick McGrail and grandchildren Tara Feldman, Robert McGrail, Joseph McGrail, Erin Osborne, Michael Auger, Annalise McGrail, Eileen Osborne, Kathleen McGrail, Sean Auger, Patrick McGrail Jr., and great grandchildren Liam Feldman and Thomas Coen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Anne McGrail, and beloved daughter Zita Julianna McGrail.
He will be dearly missed.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Don Przybylski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
