Marvin J. Meis, 85, Mosinee, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Guenther, WI, the son of the late John and Lottie (Knapp) Meis. On Sept. 9, 1961, he married Arlene Obremski at St. Casimir in Stevens Point, she survives.
Marvin worked for the State of Wisconsin as a Forrest Fire Control Assistant II for 37 years. He also worked for the Rib Mountain Ski Area as a groomer of the ski slopes. Marvin served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and spending time with family.
Besides his wife Arlene, Marvin is survived by; two sons, Dennis (Sandy) Meis, Mosinee, and Gerald (Colleen) Meis, Custer; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jessi), Ryan (Morgan), Rebecca, and Lindsey; and four great-grandchildren, William, Zander, Elizabeth, and Maverick. Besides his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Wise.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate.
