Grace A. Miller, Mosinee, died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Willow Haven, Mosinee, under the care of Interm Healthcare Hospice.
She was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late John Fox, Maybel (Hirschel) Pfeffer, and step-father, Joe Pfeffer. On Sept. 2, 1939, she married Elsmer Kuphal. He preceded in death on May 18, 1953. She then married Robert “Bob” Miller on August 21, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2014.
Grace owned and operated Kuphal’s IGA and Kuphal’s Tavern. She also operated and ran a four-family apartment complex. Grace lived in Milwaukee until she retired and moved to the town of Green Valley. Her and Bob built their retirement home along the shores of the Eau Pleine flowage where their old cabin sat. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle pointing and bowling. She looked forward to card game parties with friends and enjoyed going to the casino.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly (Harvey) Heuser, Sussex; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Kuphal, Mosinee; five grandchildren, Debbie (Brian) McGlynn, Oro Valley, AZ, Jackie (Jay Pastrich) Duenow, New Berlin, Brian Kuphal, Park Falls, Jenny (Brad) Augustiniak, Weston, and Brad Kuphal, Glidden; six great-grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsay) McGlynn, Sean McGlynn, Shannon (Darryl) Gessler, Danielle Duenow, and Cody and Sadie Augustiniak; and three great-great grandchildren, Ruby and Emmett Gessler, and Coral McGlynn. Grace was preceded in death by her son, Buzz Kuphal and two brothers, Al Fox and Jack Fox.
Services will be at 12 p.m. (Noon), Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Dancy. The Rev. Timothy Roser will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.
