Randall J. Nechuta, 65, Athens, died after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Serenity House, Tomah.
He was born Nov. 20, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI., a son of the late Joseph Nechuta Sr and Doralin (Akey) Nechuta. He married Yvonne Harless on Nov. 4, 1988, in Wausau. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 2016.
Randy was a very giving person he loved spending time helping his community with setting up for the Athens Fair, craft projects and volunteering at Color Vision Printing. He enjoyed spending time with Friends “on the square”, he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, and gardening, searching for artifacts (arrowheads) and doing crossword puzzles. He never missed watching a Packer game. Randy had a special bond with his nephews Josh and Kyle and his cousin Gary, that he greatly treasured.
Survivors include his mother, Doralin Nechuta, Weston; siblings, Daniel (Patricia) Nechuta, Mosinee, Vince (Lori) Nechuta, Dorchester, Joseph (Michelle) Nechuta Jr., Abbotsford, Pam (Randy) Voge, Stevens Point, Arlene (Dan) Hornak, Warrens; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Joseph, Randy was preceded in death by a brother, Don Nechuta.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Phyllis Smoot will officiate. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com
