Darryl C. Neumann, 77, died Monday, March 4, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1941, the son of the late Clemans and Loretta (Stahnke) Neumann. Darryl married Patricia Koss on Aug. 20, 1966, in Pine City, MN. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1985.
Darryl (Pa) will be remembered by those he touched with his quiet, soft demeanor; as a very kind man, with a quick quirky sense of humor; and for the wonderful friendships that he developed as a long-time employee of GPI corporation where he worked for 42 years, and while spending time at his 2nd home The Log Cabin restaurant. Darryl was the type who was OK being the one being behind the scenes, doing the work that always needed to get done. Darryl enjoyed tinkering with his 63 Mercurys, and looked forward to helping his son and his running partner Mike get their cars ready for the demolition derbies that they ran together. Over the years Darryl became Pa to the many that he welcomed to the shop to build their cars.
Survivors include a son, Nicholas (Angela) Neumann, Weston; three grandchildren, Cara, Trae and Natasha Neumann; five sisters, Gloria Neumann, Springfield, OH, Pamela Bonnel, Fond du Lac, Donna Rhinehart, BC, Sally Schiedeman Wausau, and Lisa Hill Fond du Lac; three brothers, David (Reta) Neumann, Donald (Eileen) Neumann, and Timothy Neumann, all of Wausau; and very special friend, Kathy Prasalowicz, Weston. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Michael Neumann, and a sister, Betty Blank.
