Charmaine E. Nixon, 86, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Hospice House on Monday, May 9, 2022.
Charmaine was born in Wausau, WI on Aug. 7, 1935, and was raised by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Ella Gremler. She graduated from Wausau West High School and went on to work at Green Bay Packaging, Wisconsin Mutual Insurance, and later retired from Greenheck Fan Corporation. Throughout her years she also enjoyed bartending.
Charmaine was an avid snowmobiler and was an active member of KK Riders Snowmobile Club. She loved taking trips to the casino, going for walks, and spent countless hours boating and fishing up north. She took great pleasure in cooking and instilled that passion in her children. Though she had many hobbies, her greatest joy in life was her family.
Charmaine is survived by her son, John (Sarah) Nixon of Wautoma, WI; daughter, Laura (Greg) Schara of Marathon, WI; granddaughters, Katelyn (Derek Breyer) Schara of Marathon, WI, and Breanna (Kyle Von Der Heide) Schara of Appleton, WI; nephew, Randy Guenter of Mosinee, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Ella Gremler; John “Jack” Nixon; Evelyn Guenter; brother, Bruce Guenther; and cousin, Ronald Kleiber.
Charmaine will especially be remembered for her fiery spirit and quick-witted remarks. She was a small woman with a big personality!
