Ignaz Ohly, 87, Mosinee, died March 27, 2018, at Stone River Memory Care Center in Marshfield, WI, under the care of Asera Care Hospice Service.
Ignaz was born on April 12, 1930 in Mitrovica, Germany, to the late Karl and Sofia (Becker) Ohly. Ignaz married Maria Schneider, she preceded him in death on July 2, 1999.
Ignaz loved his family, wood working, nature, sports, church and music. Every Sunday after church Ignaz would drive through town to stop in and visit all his family. He loved to have friends and family over for dinners and conversation. With woodworking being his career, he had amazing visions and created beautiful works of art. He had an understanding and love for nature and its animals. He loved to watch birds and take care of the strays around his home. Ignaz could always get into a good round of wrestling or an edge of your seat game of soccer. He attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church every week and went to the “Event in Bevent” at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church every year. He would do raffles, have a drink and visit with friends and listen and dance to polkas. The man was one heck of a polka dancer but an even better father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
