Genevieve “Jean” Olszewski, 91, Mosinee, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Peplin, the daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara (Pas) Boron. She married Adam Olszewski on Sept. 16, 1950, at St. John Catholic Church, Peplin. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2000.
Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and baking, and liked to play cards, bingo and occasionally gambling. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She was a life member of Peplin Ladies Auxiliary 8280 and volunteered at Acorn Hills and Cedar Ridge Elderly Assisted Living Center.
Survivors include a son, James “Radar” (Michelle) Olszewski, Mosinee; her daughters, Karen Wagner, Ossian, Iowa, Julieanne (Lorne) Lemke, Mosinee, and Cheryl (Peter) Dehne, Mosinee; her grandchildren, Elissa, Andrew (Jenny), Adam (Ashley), Sarah and Leigh (Ariana Rubio) Olszewski, Matthew Lemke, Ethan and Colby Schmitt and Heather (Eric) Bettmeng; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Adam, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a son-in-law, Walter Wagner, five brothers, Joseph, Peter, Casey, Tony and Stanley, and four sisters, Verna, Mary, Julia and Helen.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Peplin. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Peplin.
