Peter Robin Nielsen

Peter R. Nielsen, 84, Wausau, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Aspirus Seasons of Life Hospice House, Woodruff, WI.

Peter was born on March 20, 1940, son of the late Peter W. and Dorothy (Wiengert) Nielsen. On October 3, 1997, he married Betty Parker, she preceded him in death on October 3, 2019.

Peter worked at the Mosinee Paper Mill as a Pulp Mill Operator. He also served in the United States Army, honorably serving in both Viet Nam and Korea. Then retired as Master Sergent in the Army Reserve.

Peter was a loving father. Served as assistant them Scout Master of troop 427 helping his son achieve Life and Eagle Scout ranks. Was active in St. Annes Parish, Wausau He was a kind cheerful person who enjoyed wood working, photograph, weightlifting and classical music.

Peter is survived by his children, Aaron Nielsen, Wausau, Anthony Nielsen, Wausau, Katherine (Timothy) Collins, Mukwonago, and Cheryl Parker, Wausau; stepchildren, Wendy (Brian) Schulz, Linhaven, FL, Pat (Debbie) Parker, Pueblo, CO, and Dane (Donna) Parker, Wausau; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Besides his parents, and wife Betty, Peter was preceded in death two brothers, Greg and Richard.

A Graveside Service for Peter will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, November 1, 2024, in Mosinee Cemetery. The Rev. Aaron Becker will officiate. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
