Raymond J. Wendorski, 79, Schofield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, September 22, 2023, at his home in Schofield.
Ray was born on Oct. 2, 1943, son of the late John and Helen (Paris) Wendorski.
He retired from Federal Mogul after 40 years as a machinist, then custodian. Ray was an avid fisherman who enjoyed catching panfish during the winter and summer. He also enjoyed collecting trains and building model railroads. Ray was a passionate classic car enthusiast and took great pride in taking his Monte Carlo and Dodge Coronet 500 to car shows around Wisconsin.
Ray is survived by, his brother, James (Carleen) Wendorski; nieces and nephews, Alicia (Jody) Esker, Ron (Jamie) Wendorski, Tim (Val) Wendorski, John (Jackie) Wendorski, and Kristine (Matt) Kline. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald (Carol) Wendorski.
The family would like to thank Angie Burgoyne for her loving care and the team at Interim Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Therese Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Albert Saleth will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Mosinee. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at St Therese. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Ray’s name to the American Cancer Society.
