Jay L. Romatowski, 50, Mosinee, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
He was born Dec. 22, 1962, in Wausau, the son of Raymond and Jean (Baravetto) Romatowski. He married Sue Morris on March 21, 1992, in Peplin. She survives.
He was employed at Wausau Paper Corporation/Mosinee Mill for 30 years.
Growing up, Jay always loved visiting his grandparent’s farm. He was very happy to build his home next to the farm, where he spent countless hours hunting and walking in the woods. He loved deer, so much so that he raised them for a while. Jay was kind-hearted and gentle, with a “soft spot” for his nieces and nephews. He kept friends for life, still having close relationships with the friends he grew up with. But Jay’s true passion was his family. He enjoyed being a family-man and creating memories with them. Jay loved “his girls” more than anything. He was always there for them and they will miss him very much. He was “Somebody’s Someone”, a neighbor, a husband, a brother, a loving father, an uncle, a cousin, somebody’s best friend. He was somebody’s someone.
Survivors, besides his wife, Sue, and parents, Ray and Jean, Mosinee, include two daughters, Kayla and Jade Romatowski, both at home; two brothers, Floyd Romatowski, Wausau, and Timothy (Heather) Romatowski, Mosinee; and two sisters, Cindy (Rick) Romatowski and Lynn (Donavon) Knoblock, both of Mosinee.
A Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. The Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, and again from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.
