Jean Ann Romatowski was born on July 30, 1938, to the late Henry and Alma (Wendorf) Baravetto. Jean married her best friend and polka partner, Raymond Romatowski, on May 25, 1957, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. This year they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Jean was a homemaker and raised five children. She loved to cook and her hospitality ensured that no one ever left hungry. She was known for her bright smile and contagious laughter, which was brought on by her unique and crazy sense of humor. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially spoiling her four grandchildren, whom she took great pleasure in. Jean was a lifelong and loyal friend to many, diligently writing pen pals for many years. Her strong and compassionate heart always sought to see the best in everyone. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing to polkas, listening to country music, attending church picnics, playing BINGO, going to the casino, and she was always ready to beat you at a game on a moment’s notice.
Jean is survived by her husband, Ray; children, Floyd Romatowski, Cynthia Romatowski, Timothy Romatowski, Lynn (John) Copps, and daughter-in-law Sue Romatowski; grandchildren, Donavon (Delila) Knoblock, Ashley (Zavery) Dickson, Kayla (Santosh) Gering, and Jade Romatowski; great-grandchildren, Mason and Jerek Gering and Uriah Dickson; sister, Marlene (Roy) Sawczyk. She was proceeded in death by her son, Jay Romatowski.
Jean died peacefully in her home in Mosinee surrounded by family on August 19, 2022, at the age of 84.
