John Rydzinski Sr., 77, Mosinee, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born Sept. 25, 1940, in Knowlton, the son of the late Charles and Anna (Rucinski) Rydzinski. After 16 years of a loving relationship, he married Elaine Miller on July 12, 1991, in Wausau. She survives.
He was employed at Mosinee Paper Mill for 44 years, retiring in February 2005. He was a hard worker and an outdoorsman who raised chickens and loved working on his hobby farm. He was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed listening to polkas. John was a dedicated family man with a big heart who would help anyone. He also had a good sense of humor which included giving people nicknames.
Survivors, besides his wife, Elaine, include his children, Joel Rydzinski, Waverly, Minn., Jayne Rydzinski, Richfield, Minn., LaVerne (Kathy) Scholl, Madison, Jim (Jodi) Scholl, Sparta, Gerri (Mike Schoenoff) Roznos, Baraboo, Kathy (Jamie) Ivaska, Mosinee, and Kelly (Josh) Mullins, Mosinee; his sisters, Theresa (Ron) Fochs and Patricia (John) Scott; his grandchildren, Jesse, Ashley, Melissa, Brandon, Justin, Tyler, Treven, Martina, Melissa, Amanda and Michael; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Jr., a brother, Charles Jr., two sisters, Dorothy Gorka and Rose Dziak, and a granddaughter, Stacy.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Timothy Roser will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and again from 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services all at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com
