Timothy J. Scullin, 67, of Halder, WI, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, near his cabin in Park Falls, WI.
Tim was born on June 16, 1948, in Milwaukee, the only child of the late Bernie and Elenore (Rosin) Scullin. Tim attended school in Milwaukee, graduating from Custer High School in 1966. Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Limnology and Fishery Management from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1970. Tim worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and for the University of Michigan Great Lakes Research Division before earning his Master’s degree in Limnology and Fishery Management from the University of Stevens Point in 1977. Tim was the President of his own business, Mid-State Environmental Consulting, from 1977- 2005. He was involved in water testing area lakes and rivers.
Tim married Joy Salzmann on April 5, 1975, at St. Joseph Church in Stevens Point. He and Joy made their home in Bevent, eventually settling on the land he loved in Halder near the Big Eau Plaine.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and boating through his lifetime. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and in recent years enjoyed woodworking projects and refurbishing sleigh bells for family and friends. His family and friends enjoyed his cunning sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Audre and Chuck Sautter, Englewood, FL and Excelsior, MN, Jeanette and Jacob Felix, Portland, OR, and Benjamin and Ann Salzmann, Kohler; several cousins, including Tom Scullin, Park Falls, who was like a brother to Tim. Tim is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families: Nathan Felix, Rebecca Coplin, Kasha Bonnell, Tomas Breuning, Andrew Salzmann and Emily Thiel. He is preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Ruth Salzmann.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. The Rev. Felix Tigoy will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services, at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
