Pauline J. Shearer, 90, Mosinee, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on June 30, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kubik) Ivaska. Pauline married Richard Shearer in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Pauline spent her life caring for others. After raising three children, she retired and spent 30 years as a co-director of the Circle of Joy Food Pantry in Mosinee. She created and implemented the Circle of Joy’s “Giving Tree” that ensures every child on the pantry’s list will receive a Christmas gift. Every winter she sewed quilts to give to the children’s unit at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She is survived by her three children, Karen (Joe), Colleen (Greg), and Randy (Cindy); six grandchildren, Dan, David (Heather), Joe (Danielle), Danielle, Ryan, and Julie (James); three great-grandchildren, Peter, Marina, and Josie; three “extra grandchildren”, Jason (Nancy), Victoria and Nicholas; two sisters, Loretta, and Evelyn; and three brothers, Donald, John (Pauline), and Jim (Joan). She is preceded in death by parents, John and Mary; husband, Richard; infant sister, Eve; and a brother, Chuck.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Norman Boneck will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.
